Admission and Timing
Entry: Admission to Tang Dynasty Everbright City is free, with no reservation required.
Performance Schedule: Regular performances typically start at 7:00 PM on non-holidays. Arriving too early or too late may mean waiting unnecessarily or missing out on the exciting shows.
Transportation Guide
North Route: Take Metro Line 3 or Line 4 to Da Yan Ta (大雁塔) station, Exit B. A leisurely six-minute walk will bring you to the site.
South Route: Alternatively, take Line 4 directly to Tang Paradise (大唐芙蓉园) station, Exit D, and enjoy a 19-minute stroll to reach your destination.
Recommended Itinerary
- 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Start your evening at the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Don’t miss the spectacular fountain show at 7:00 PM, which showcases the stunning fusion of sound, light, and water, making it one of Asia’s largest music fountains.
- 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: After the fountain show, stroll south through the Da Yan Ta pedestrian street, immersing yourself in the romantic atmosphere created by the Poetry Street (诗词街).
- 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Arrive at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a 1,300-year-old architectural marvel, and take a moment to admire the solemn statue of Xuanzang.
- 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM: Step into Tang Dynasty Everbright City and enjoy an array of exciting performances, including “Secret Box of the Prosperous Tang” (盛唐密盒), “Floral Car Parade” (花车斗彩), and “Reign of Zhenguan” (贞观之治).
- 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM: Head to the east side of Kaiyuan Square to enjoy the captivating “Tang Costume Balancing” (唐装不倒翁) performance.

Performance Highlights
From 7:00 PM onwards, there are a total of 14 free performances, each lasting about ten minutes. While you may not be able to catch them all, you can select your favorites to experience. Here are some key highlights:

“Secret Box of the Prosperous Tang” (盛唐密盒): An interactive game where actors prompt audience members to answer questions, adding a fun twist to your visit.
“Music and Dance of Chang’an” (乐舞长安): Inspired by Tang Sancai (Tang tri-colored glazed pottery) camel figurines, this performance beautifully captures the elegance of the Tang Dynasty.
“Balancing Sister” (不倒翁小姐姐): With her delicate fan and graceful movements, the performer transports you back to the grandeur of the Tang era.
